About the book

Lost in God is, in the Apostle's words, the teaching that nobody gave you. We have whole conferences on how to get out of poverty and none on what to do when God blesses you, and he has buried more ministries in the harvest than in the famine. Being lost in God is not a destination but a warning: going missing from God while standing in the middle of His blessing, as Satan did in heaven itself.

The book names the glory on a life and why you cannot see your own, the first sign of mismanaging it, what getting lost looks like in a marriage, a business, a car and a pulpit, nine portraits from Scripture of people lost inside the blessing, why your glory and not your weakness draws the enemy, the devil of the glory season, the five keys that keep a blessed person aligned with God, why you must stay where God planted you, how the path of the just shines brighter and brighter, and whether the glory can return once it has lifted.

The most dangerous place in your life is when you are walking in God's glory.

Written for

  • Every believer standing in the middle of their greatest season of blessing
  • Leaders and ministers, who carry more glory than anyone in the building

Full outline

Part1

The Warning

What lost in God means, what the glory is, the first sign, and what getting lost looks like.

  1. 01The Revelation Nobody TeachesWhat lost in God actually means: going missing from God while still inside His blessing, as the anointed cherub did in heaven, and why most people are destroyed by glory they were never taught to manage.
  2. 02The Weight of What You CarryThe glory on a life is everything God has placed on you that carries weight and can be seen: eight markers, why it is heavy, why you cannot see your own, and the question God asked in the garden.
  3. 03The First Sign: MurmuringThe first sign of mismanaged glory is not a scandal but murmuring: the man who could not see his two feet, Israel at breakfast, the nine lepers, and gratitude as a practised discipline.
  4. 04What Getting Lost in God Looks LikeFive ordinary lives lost inside the answer to their own prayers: a wife, a husband, a businessman, a man with a new car and a bishop in business class.
Part2

The Portraits

Nine lives from Scripture lost inside the blessing of God.

  1. 05Lost in the Garden and in the DesertAdam hiding among God's own trees and Israel weeping for Egypt under the cloud: the first two portraits, and the two who arrived.
  2. 06Lost on the ThroneFour thrones: Vashti, Saul, Uzziah and Solomon, each lifted by God and lost at the top, and the four words Scripture writes over them.
  3. 07Lost at the Table and on the RoofJudas at the table of Jesus and Nebuchadnezzar on the roof of Babylon: the nearest and the highest glory, and why one was found and one was not.
Part3

The Enemy of the Glory

Why your glory draws the enemy, and the one spirit that waits for your season of blessing.

  1. 08Your Glory Attracts the EnemyWhy the enemy is drawn to your glory and not your weakness: dreams against a blessed marriage, jealousy of what God gave you, and the enemy already inside the gate.
  2. 09The Devil of the Glory Season: PridePride, the devil of the glory season: the five places Scripture says his heart was lifted up, the three doors it enters by, and why the anointing can keep working after the heart has gone.
Part4

The Five Keys

Treasure God, fear God, embrace humility, give God priority, and serve God.

  1. 10Treasure God and Fear GodKeys one and two: treasure God above everything He gives you, tested by what you can give away, and fear God at the open door as Joseph did.
  2. 11Embrace HumilityKey three: humility as the settled knowledge of who lifted you, lived out in how low you are willing to go, with five ways to practise it and four counterfeits to avoid.
  3. 12Give God Priority and Serve GodKeys four and five: the seed in every harvest is God's, and the blessed must serve on purpose, because the promotion that takes a man out of his post has begun to take him out of the grace.
Part5

The Path

Stay where God planted you, go from glory to glory, and the road back when the glory has lifted.

  1. 13Stay Where God Planted YouWhy leaving the place God planted you is the glory's most devastating exit: the voice that stopped a fortune in Dallas, one table rather than many, and what leaves with you when you leave.
  2. 14From Glory to GloryThe path of the just shines brighter by one mechanism, beholding the Lord and not your own glory: why the level you hold now is the test for the next.
  3. 15When the Glory Has Lifted: Can It Return?Whether the glory can return once it has lifted: Nebuchadnezzar, David and Peter restored, Saul and Judas not, the five steps of the road down, and the warning to the restored.
